Kent School revisit

We live in NE Pennsylvania, which is not a prosperous area. My son has visited schools that seemed less obviously “prosperous” than Kent. Today, I saw a universe of people that is very different than from what I live with on a day-to-day basis. That said, I really was impressed by Kent as an institution, and by the community outreach programs that Kent offers. There seems to be a sincere commitment to the local community–ie rebuilding a porch for a home-bound grandmother, or serving at a soup kitchen. The surrounding area of Kent is highly privileged. The kids at the school are the same. However, I didn’t get a sense that they are overly impressed with themselves.

Rad,

I’ve been busy since we came back and had to stay away from CC but I just saw your comment that admissions at Kent are not answering the phone.
I think they had pretty busy week and I doubt they even had anyone in the admissions building on some days. On Monday and Thursday (the revisit days) everyone from admissions was helping the parents and students find their way around campus, answering questions etc.
I also heard that on Tuesday or Wednesday the whole campus lost power and I’m not sure if and how that affected their phone lines.
Admissions has always been really good about answering our questions, responding to e-mails promptly. And trust me, I have bugged them a lot.

My daughter attends Kent. While there are some students that boast their wealth or their parent’s accomplishments, my daughter has commented that the the topic of FA is rarely discussed or brought up unless the recipient brings it up. My daughter’s Kent friends are from various socio-economic levels (and I have found them to be an interesting and fun bunch).

which son was at the revisit day?

HopefulAtHill.

Yes, understood. But I also called before then- still no answer  ehh

I called about 1 and half weeks ago and they answered and we talked and then they told me to send and email and still no reply __?

So, for those who went to revisit, could you please comment if you/your child is going to Kent? We were very impressed with Kent throughout the process and revisit day sealed it for us…our son had multiple offers and in the end…chose KENT…so will be Kent '14.

ill be kent 2014

Lucky ! Lol ;)
