Kent School Student-Ready to answer any questions!

What is the Kent-Loomis rivalry like? How is Loomis/Kent Day?

What is the atmosphere like? Is Kent generally a pretty cliquey school?

As a 9th or 10th grader, do students at kent have a lights-out dorm policy? Thanks!

ill just pop in and answer one of these questions really quick. i hope thats okay bs_hopeful.
berkshirelover-9th and 10th graders have check in at 10:00 pm and then lights out at 10:30pm on every day but Saturday. Saturday there is check in at 11:00pm but no lights out.

are all students allowed to study in the library during study hall?

Yes all students are allowed to study in the library during study hall if they want to. Most students choose to study in their room but some do go to the library

futureboarder-the atmosphere is great! of course there are cliques at every school. it depends on the people in your grade on how cliquey it is anywhere. cliques may be together at lunch, but in clubs and activities, everyone is mixed together and you get to meet a lot of new people

Bump!..

sallygirl’s question is still not answered about loomis day

okay well i cant really answer the loomis day question because i didnt go to last years but every other year it switches off who has it. this year loomis day is at kent. the spoon game is a football game which dates back a while and is a tradition but i dont know the whole story

Is there a place at Kent for students who would be coming in their 11th grade year on FA who don’t play sports currently? This does not mean that they wouldn’t be open to playing teams sports when there. I just get the impression with some schools that if you don’t play sports, especially if you need at least 3/4ths FA, then you wont be accepted…

yes of course! i know juniors who came this year but dont play any sports. i dont know if they have FA of course but i would tell you to definitely apply!

Kent-Loomis Spoon day took place this past Sat. and featured a very exciting football game. Kent scored in the last 60 seconds to win and the crowd went crazy. Kent has a strong, undefeated football team this season. Kent and Loomis kids all seemed to be having a lot of fun.

Are you still at Kent? We are thinking of sending our daughter there next year but have some questions. Wondering if you can help answer some of them. Thx!

I currently attend Kent and would be happy to answer any questions you might have!

I sent some questions for you in the private message!!!

Great! I just saw the message and I will definitely reply tomorrow. I have to finish my physics homework but I started a reply message!

I am an international student attending Kent this year, so hi. Don’t know if you still study there?
Does the school have washer and dryer in dorm?

I have heard that Kent is dominated by rich New York City kids not too far from Gossip Girl in type. Also that there are strong cliques and non-wealthy students are left out. It does not sound that friendly. Can someone who knows this school please provide some perspective? Thanks!

Daophuonglien-Kent does not have washers or dryers. There is a laundry service that you can pay for to have your clothes washed or you can bring them to the laundromat in town. Most students do get the laundry service because it is convenient and easy whereas the laundromat is a bit of a walk into town and takes up time.
