Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew what the average sat score is? Also, the class sizes seem to vary from source to source, so does anyone have an approximate guess?

Class size at pretty much all the boarding schools seems to be around 10-14, I would venture to guess it's the same there.

Average class size at Kent: 12

From the Kent School web site (Kent School: Welcome) under the Admissions section:

You should talk to Aussie13, he's going there in the fall.

im going there in the fall too as an incoming sophomore,
so if you have any questions....

I received a phone survey from them. It was really weird. They asked me why i didn't apply and threw on some guilt make-you-feel-bad-for-not-applying stuff. Sort of low for the person who started that.

Could you elaborate on that McskittlZ10?

Ummmm, I have no idea. lol
Im pretty sure it's high. If you know someone at the school you could call them and ask.

We got a phone survey from Kent as well. I think it was a contracted company, not really the school. We were honest, we asked for info in September, got a brochure about art and then didn't get a view book until about 2-3 days before the application was due. No other contact and in the mean time found a whole bunch of other schools that were great fits.
I wonder if admissions had low application vs inquiry stats this year and hired someone to do an evaluation to find out why.

Kent actually had a record breaking applicants this year. But it could be that there is a substantial number of inquiries left unaccounted for.

if you are going to kent, i have a friend who is going too (for ninth grade) so if you want to talk to her, i'll give you her email :)

Elaboration initiated.

It was a Saturday night and i was watching a movie at home when the phone rang. Who could it be? The circus? An early acceptance from Andover? The president? Warren Buffet holding a 50B dollar check? Nope, it's a kid.

I'll skip the story. Apparently Kent was using a bunch of students to conduct a telephone survey. They had my contact info because i requested information about the school, but did not visit/apply. First, they asked to speak to my father. They asked him loads of questions, the same as mine.

They asked what was my favorite school. I said Andover.

Then they began to ask questions like how important is chapel to you? Very important, sorta important, a bit important, not of importance.
how important is a no-drug policy?
how important is an after school sport?

What do you like about Andover?

I said the bla bla alaablabbla

All the answers i gave that i liked about Andover they turned around and said Kent has that, Kent has this. Sort of a guilty feeling.

What would you say 1 being least important 10 being most is efficient energy? Great academics? Wonderful school spirit?

Then, at the end they asked why i didn't apply because all the values that i looked at in a school were at Kent. I said blabalblabbl.

That was how it went down. I still think its a bit low to ask students to have surveys about their school on the telephone with random kids.

I completly respect Kent though, don't take this the wrong way.
