Accepted with $10k merit! Super happy!
DD accepted with 20K. This marks the 12th acceptance. Tough choice.
Same boat. This is my Sâs 14th acceptance out of 16 â but itâs a mix of school types (accepted 5 big state schools, 5 LACs, and 4 mid-sized privates â waiting on one more decision, waitlisted at one LAC). Totally overwhelmed! We thought heâd be lucky to get a handful
Iâm not sure if my S22 will land at Kenyon, but if yours does, he wonât be the lone Packers/Cards fan - my daughter will be happy to have more like minded folks on campus!
Just saying that I doubt the waitlist was a result of not demonstrating interest. My son did the interview, several Zooms, an in-person tour, department tour and two admissions sessions in person. Still waitlisted. I think the application pool was overwhelming again this year.
Yes, I thought the same thing when I saw you got a happy acceptance! Congrats! Lemme just say this: Having lived in MANY sports-loving cities, there is a unique similarity between Packers and Cardinals fans. The vibe is so wholesome
My son was waitlisted.
That makes me feel better! We canceled one visit since it wasnât of interest to anyone but me. And never realized about the interview. I told my DS about the WL tonight, since he doesnât care about any of this anymore, he said he will call his college season a 14 1/2 acceptance overall.
Does anyone know if they are having Admitted Students Day events or is it more individual tours (appears so from the website). Thanks!
Daughter admitted with 15K merit. Sheâs happy, but she got more $ from Oberlin.
Daughter got acceptance with 12k aid and 5k loan. She has to choose between UNC chapel Hill or Kenyon. She is hoping to join Kenyon swim team, Indian national level swimmer. Waiting to hear from the coach.
Same here. Maybe thatâs why the decisions took longer than the âmid-Marchâ on the website. They were personalizing the letters.
My son got admitted with $20,000 a year merit scholarship presidential something or other. Anyway the school is outrageously expensive not sure itâs even an option for us even with the 20,000. Anybody here know anything about the creative writing program?
I donât know the details other than itâs supposed to be one of the best in the country. Their summer writing program is nationally recognized.
They donât have a specific creative writing program, but John Green graduated from there and their creative writing classes are considered the ultimate. They call themselves âthe writers schoolâ because so many of their classes involve writing. My son was looking for creative writing but was waitlisted. Iâd say they had the best creative writing program of the 80 schools we looked at/visited. $20K is the top level of merit at Kenyon - or at least it was last year.
Wow I am so pleased. I donât know that we can afford it even though we will have to try if thatâs what he chooses. Very expensive school.
Keyonâs a great school. But make sure your family decides on a budget number that is affordable, will not require debt (or no more than federally-subsidized loans, but even those should be avoided, if possible), and that will still leave you able to prepare for a financially secure retirement. If your family can do this with Kenyon, wonderful. If not, however, there are many other quality schools out there, and hopefully you have options right now that will be financially comfortable for your family. If you donât have any financially comfortable options, you might want to start a thread if you would like the communityâs assistance.
Hey, Iâm ED Kenyon! From what Iâve seen, a lot of students are returning from COVID breaks and whatnot, hence why they I think will be putting some upperclass kids in the inn and local housing. My guess is they are trying to figure out how many kids they can reasonably fit on campus, considering the small school size.
Still on the fence going to visit this week.
My son is also still on the fence. Kenyon is one of 3 that heâs narrowed it down to. But my daughter is a junior at Kenyon. If there are any questions I can answer - that you donât think youâd get from Admissions - Iâm happy to try to help!
