My son is accepted by Kenyon, Bates, Case Western. All are going to cost the same.

He is waitlisted at Univ of Rochester, Colby, Washington Univ in St Louis. Yet to hear from Colgate.

He is Pre-med. Please help suggest a college. Many thanks for your time.

Case Western>Kenyon, Bates for pre-med...

Rochester if he gets in.

dwincho, thanks. Any opinion on case, bates, kenyon?

I think if he wants a cozy small school environment either Kenyon or Bates would be great choices. He should rally not base his decision purely on waht is considered "best" for premed because if he does well at any of these schools and keeps in close touch with premed advisor and premed acivities to make sure he is a strong applicant he will be fine. But it is a long way from being premed as a highschool senior to sticking with it. So I would say go with the school that is most appealing in all ways, not just for formal premed reputation. Bates and Kenyon are both especially nice schools in terms of overall feel as well as good academics.

I don't think it is true anymore than Kenyon is only strong in its humanities and not in its sciences. "Four Kenyon students—the highest number possible from any college—have been awarded Goldwater Scholarships, the premier undergraduate scholarship program for students planning careers in the sciences, mathematics, or engineering." The other colleges that have all four of their nominees awarded Goldwater this year are Harvard and Stanford.
