Kenyon College-- Pre-Med

I was wondering the good and bad parts of doing pre-med at Kenyon College.
Would the fact that the school is liberal arts hinder my chances at getting into medical school?

I rather spend my time studying specifically for science, math, and psychology rather than writing, reading, or arts. Would that mean I would not like my time at Kenyon or any other liberal arts school?

Kenyon receives a mention in “The Experts’ Choice: Colleges with Great Pre-med Programs” (online). For liberal arts colleges with particularly flexible curricula, also consider Smith, Grinnell, Hamilton and Amherst.

I doubt that there are any “good or bad” parts associated with being a premed student at Kenyon…or at any other good school.

Premed prereqs are supposed to be hard to weed out students since nearly every school has too many freshman premeds.

Med schools won’t care if the school is a LAC or a university. Won’t matter a bit. Won’t be a hindrance.

You should pick a school that you like, can afford, and where you will be one of the top students.

ARE “liberal arts”.

Kenyon just opened a new science building. Kenyon profs are top notch and there are plenty of great science courses. What mom2 college kids said above is correct. Kenyon has a good reputation, so if you go there and do well, that will look great for med school.

students who graduate with a 3.5 from Kenyon have a 100% acceptance rate into med school
