Kenyon Class of 2018

D14 in MD rejected — 2120, Natl Merit Commended, 3.65, very strong EC’s, rec letters and essay, 6 APs — not surprised at all given selectivity plus 63% increase in apps this yr…shes fine

Has anyone from NY heard?

Out of curiosity, did those of you with great stats who received rejections demonstrate interest?

Hey does anyone know if the writing award is announced with the acceptance letters?

I’m from NY and nothing yet

@Overtheedge, not sure if my stats are considered great, but I wrote both optional essays and I had an interview. Don’t know what else I could have done - as an international student, visiting the campus wasn’t a possibility…

Also from NY, nothing here either

Accepted in Eastern Missouri!

Monday for NY then. I’m worried because my stats aren’t too great, 3.8 Gpa …2040 sat. I do have a really strong essay and the interviewer and I clicked. I also visited campus twice, but I’m just not too sure…

D was WL’d. Central NJ.

D was accepted. Ohio - fabulous financial aid too! She visited last fall and overnighted a few weeks ago when she applied for a scholarship… this is all really impressive.

I honestly don’t know what great stats means anymore but re:demonstrated interest…my D visited/interviewed and wrote an email updating her admissions counselor when mid year grades were sent, to which she received no response…only school she experienced that lack of response with, including Brown (even though anticipating rejection there too…both were her only reaches). Congrats to all those accepted:)

Still nothing as in the mail as of Saturday the 22nd - in Atlanta.

Waitlisted - 2250 SAT, 4.0/4.35 GPA, pretty strong ECs, all honors courses offered but no APs (HS doesn’t offer them), Nat’l Merit finalist. I think what got me were languages (2 credits Spanish, 1 French) and demonstrated interest (1 college fair contact and an interview, no visit), both of which Kenyon puts a lot of emphasis on. Disappointed, but this makes my decisions a lot easier! ^^

I’m thinking it must be demonstrated interest.
Most people that have gotten in apparently visited/maintained contact/did the additional online essays and so on.

This seems really random.

How will international students be notified if they got in?

Accepted from PA! 33 ACT, 4.45 gpa (W). I showed TONS of interest–interview, college fair, met and emailed with rep, and I also attended the Kenyon Review YWW, so I knew what living in Gambier entails. Very excited!!

I think via email. They were mostly sent out a week ago though I believe.

No news in Texas.

Dau accepted in WA state. Received in snail mail today. 34 ACT, 3.98 (not W), have not visited or interviewed.
