Kenyon Class of 2018

Was it an international student @artsygirl13?

Bloody hell, has any international got an acceptance at all?

Yes. Some have. American decisions will be mailed at the end of this week. @artsygirl13 did the waitlist email go to an international?

Apparently the acceptance rate for international students was less than 10% this year. Does anyone know what it was last year?

I got an email saying I was waitlisted last night at around 8 PM/ I am not international!

@newstudent1996 Ahh… Touch luck… What are your stats?

have any non-internationals received acceptances/rejections?

someone on twitter said they got in already…i’m guessing they heard via email? Not sure. I’m just gonna go with “no news is good news” right now…crossing my fingers for an acceptance in the mail!

Gahhhhhh i am so nervous. they got 60% more american apps this year than last year and the acceptance rate last year was ~30% so…

kenyon bby why did you do this my year? i would have written you 12 essays.

^^^^^^^SAME. i am scared that they’ll give all the spots to people who are only slightly interested but who have perfect stats and then people like me with good stats but not 36/2400 but who ADORE KENYON will be waitlisted/rejected

@collegebound752 @ifoundlaska I think its the other way round. So far a couple of people with 2170-2350 SAT scores have been rejected or wait listed and none accepted. I think Kenyon is more likely to accept students with lower SATs because they will be very worried about their yield rates this year.

That’s good for me but sad for those kids. The whole college process sucks. fingers crossed

Hi back

I am from a European country. I think they always want at least one student from as many countries a possible, and probably I was one of a few that applied from here. The acceptance rate is probably artificially low because from countries like china and India there are hundreds of applicants of which only 3 get accepted. If you are from one of those counties and you got waitlisted, that’s already an accomplishment!
I had a 33 ACT, perfect GPA on my grading scale, visited, interviewed, held email contact with my interviewer, fille out the additional “Why Kenyon?” and talked to Mrs. Delahunty many times. Aka I totally overdid it and I felt really obnoxious, but luckily they just thought I was funny and decided to accept me anyways.
I got a grant, some work study, and a 3000 dollar loan per year, although my parents feel uneasy about the loan because it’s a Kenyon loan and they’d rather borrow money from a bank in their name.
I’ll wait for April 1st and make a decision on April 2nd I hope.

Lots of love to all of you!

I have okay stats for Kenyon (32ACT, 4.5 GPA) and I’ve overnighted, interviewed, and I wrote my rep an email saying that if I got in and it was even remotely possible financially I would enroll.I just really love Kenyon. Every single student I’ve met has been super nice and insanely helpful, and I basically love every prospie I meet too.

This wait is painful. I’m hoping “late next week” means Thursday so we can get them on Saturday.

Anyone know why some have received results and some have not? Has anyone who isn’t an international applicant been accepted RD??

No, all non-internationals who are being accepted/rejected will get decisions between late this week and early next week. If you’re waitlisted, you’ll get an email. Apparently

So if we haven’t received any emails can we assume that we were either accepted or rejected outright?

Yep :/
