How much help would applying ED give an applicant from the 50th percentile of last year's published incoming class profile?

Does it help a lot to apply early decision if I have showed a lot of interest (Interview, visit, overnight)?

I think it would help A LOT. I am pretty sure my S would not have gotten in RD. My S’s SAT scores were above their published profile, but his GPA was below… He visited and interviewed, which I think also increased his chances. He also sent in an arts supplement, and his theater resume, and chatted a few times with his rep. Really, the only weakness was his GPA, so probably a combination of all the other factors tipped him in the accept pile in the ED round, not sure they wold of overlooked it in the RD round… but maybe, he is a pretty cool kid… it’s not good enough to just be cool… you have to be Kenyon cool:))

My weakness is also in GPA. My school is a competitive private school with LOTS of grade deflation. If my SAT scores are not reflective of my grades, will they take note? By the way my grades average around a 95 without Calculus factored in (so at my school 4.0). I have a B+ currently in (AP level) Calculus (about 3.33) with an A one quarter as well. This averages about 3.8 or 3.9 unweighted. We do not have weighted GPA at my school.
