I'm trying to bring a cordless tea kettle with me, but will that get confiscated?

If you want to have it, just bring it. I don't even know if it's technically not allowed, but that doesn't matter much. The housing rules aren't too heavily enforced (except drugs and other more serious issues), so as long as you don't spread the news that you have something you aren't supposed to, no one will know/care. I had an electric water heater type thing in my dorm last year, and my friend had a toaster, and practically every room with girls in it burned candles for their scented oils, and nobody important found out about it.

O yes...Drugs are strictly enforced in NYU dorms...every room just has a weed scented air freshener...

hahahahahahahaha

you can keep a crocidile in your room and wouldn't get caught

well by "strictly enforced" I meant that an RA would actually care if they saw it in your room. Usually they won't care about kettles and toasters and things like that even if they see it in your room.
