A good number of EC's, mostly having to do with my field of choice, screenwriting, but I actually want to study Journalism in college. I'm not really that worried about the school having a great program in either of these, though. I'm very open to anything.

I have pretty good letters and very good essays.

I really just want to go to a large university and have a great college experience while learning as much as I can about things that I'm interested in. I'm not so worried about careers yet.

In my freshman year, my GPA was about a 2.9. In my sophomore year, it was about a 3.5. My junior year was horrible and really killed my GPA.

Here are the schools that I'm applying to:
Indiana Bloomington
UMASS, Amherst
SUNY Buffalo
SUNY Albany
UCONN
University of Rhode Island
Towson University

Do you think I will be admitted to any of these schools?

This is really hard to predict since colleges will look at your GPA and reall think you're a slacker.

Indiana Bloomington/UConn- Both are fairly similar, with UConn being a little tougher to get into. Your GPA will really hurt, but my prediction is one of these two will accept you. That doesn't mean you can't get into both though.
UMASS, Amherst- I think you'll get in. They'd die to have a kid with a 1360 GPA enroll.
SUNY Buffalo- Similar chances to Albany, but probably a bit harder. Wouldn't be surprised if they rejected you.
SUNY Albany- Accepted b.c of your SAT
University of Rhode Island- See Buffalo
Towson University- I think your SAT's will get you in

i dont think you'll get into uconn- the average gpa is about a 3.5 these days.
you'll probably get into towson
umass/uri are a little reachy because of your gpa, but i bet you get into one of them.

Bumping this up because of a reply that I got on the Indiana board.

A few people said that because of my GPA I'm going to have to spend at least a year at a community college before I can transfer to a major university. Is this really true?

I know that it's not definitely true, because universities can accept all different people for all kinds of reasons, and my SAT scores might cause someone to take a chance on me, but do you all think that I will be rejected from most of the schools that I'm applying to like these other people seem to?

Am I wasting time and money by applying to all of to all of these schools?
