I'm wondering if anyone can go to the frat parties and what not. I don't want to go greek and am planning on staying in a double dorm with a buddy. Is it possible to still go out to all the parties to have some fun occasionally?

Edit: Also, are lander and terry the most social / outgoing places to dorm? I want to really have a good freshman experience and meet a lot of other people!

If you’re a girl, you can get in with ease. If you’re a guy, you need to know someone in the party to get in.

It depends on the time and date.
For example, next week is greek week where the greek system opens their doors to everyone. The delts are having a massive foam party and there will hundreds of people going. Usually, though, during school, it can be pretty hard to get in to a frat if you’re not a girl, in that frat, or part of a triad or something whose a part of a party at that frat. It worked out best for me because I knew a few people in sigma chi and Beta, so they would let me know about stuff and if they could, they would put me on the guest list – with like a $5 fee or something.
Regarding the dorm situation, I live in Mercer and I’ve met a ton of people here. We’ll definitely be friends for a long time and we all hang out a lot. I have good friends that live in Lander and, to be honest, it’s not the most social floor. It’s a big dorm, and you can get some pretty weird people in there sometimes. I don’t want to offend you, however, when I say that there are a lot of foreign students that live in Lander and, from personal experience, they tend to stay within their own circles.
If you really want to meet people I’d suggest doing EFS (early fall start). There you can meet a ton of new people because the amount of people going to the school, because, well you kind of have to haha. It’s a very small number that actually go, you stay in the dorms, you do homework with each other, etc., it’s a good time and probably the best time to make friends.
