Kilachand Honors College?

If our admissions letter this morning didn’t mention Kilachand at all, does that mean we didn’t get into it? Or do they announce Kilachand decisions later?

u didnt get in

If you got in to Kilachand Honors College, there would be a link for it under ‘Admissions Decision,’ ‘Financial Assistance Decision,’ and ‘Dean’s Welcome.’ The link would say ‘Kilachand Honors College Welcome.’ It links you to a welcome letter, much like the welcome letter you get if you are admitted into BU.

:/ i wish i got in too, can we appeal this specific decision because I feel like i would be a strong candidate for the honors college

I can’t believe I didn’t get admitted. My stats and awards are great. What do they use as criteria?

Does anyone know about how many students get admitted to the honors college? I haven’t been able to find anything really specific about it.

Around 120-140, out of approx 3700 new freshmen.

I don’t know what their yield is though - i.e., if 1/2 the people invited to join KHC end up going to BU, then they may invite around 240-280 or so, to yield around 120-140. (I believe “regular” yield at BU is around 25%, but I would guess that the KHC yield is much higher.)

My understanding is that they’re talking about raising the number of KHC students to around 150 per class, but not sure when that might happen. Probably wouldn’t go any higher than that - part of what they’re trying to create is a very small cohort of like-minded students (curious, passionate, intelligent, articulate, etc) . . . not just “smart” students with great grades and good test scores.
