At schools like Exeter where do the students put their backpacks when they come into the class because I dont think they can put it on the harkness table. I was just wondering!!!!

…on the floor?

haha
I really wasn’t trying to be mean…
I just thought it would take up space to be throwing bags on Exeter’s beloved Harkness tables.

do the boarding students have lockers or do they have to carry all their books in their bags or go to the dorm before each class to get them

im pretty sure only day students get their own lockers for their books.

and yes the backpacks are probably put by their chairs/ underneath the table

You said “schools like Exeter” so I’ll answer for Andover. At Andover if your class has a Harkness table you put your bags underneath underneath it so you don’t accidentally kill unsuspecting students trying to get to a seat.

Only day students are assigned lockers for the year, but boarders living in the farther dorms can rent a locker in the library and anyone can rent a gym locker. And by rent I mean pay ten dollars for the year and get eight back at the end so long as you manage to not lose the key.

backpacks generally go on the floor under the table or beside your chair.

as for lockers, only day students get them, but you generally carry around stuff for multiple classes at once in your backpack, which honestly isn’t that bad, because I go back to the dorm two or three times a day between classes, so I’m usually only carrying stuff for two or three classes at a time. not a huge ordeal. also, most of the dorms aren’t that far from the academic buildings, so it doesn’t take very long to run to the dorm, grab your stuff, and go to class.
