I am really interested in the human body hence wanting to major in Kinesiology. However, I also enjoy computers and technology as a whole and I think it would be smart to minor in computer science as the technology industry is booming and I could fall back on that or freelance if I don’t get a job in kinesiology. A problem I have is that I would like to live a good life and I thought I could invest in the stock market. Is it foolish to minor in finance since most schools with kinesiology programs don’t have the best finance program—also, I feel that a finance degree would only be useful by majoring in it. Any tips?
First of all, you can invest in the stock market without a major in finance. Second of all, investing in the stock market is no guarantee of living a good life. Most people who invest in the stock market do OK but it’s unlikely you’ll make piles of money unless you have piles of money to invest up front or you get very lucky.
But particularly if you are just minoring in finance, you don’t need to try to go somewhere the “best” finance program. You can certainly minor in finance at the school where you major in kinesiology, if you want, and still learn a lot about finance.
