Kinesiology!

I'm applying as an early decision candidate to Rice U in November, and one of the common app supplement ?s is "With the understanding that the choice of academic school you indicated is not binding, explain why you are applying to that particular school of study." which got me stuck...

I want to go on to med school after undergrad, so I was thinking of choosing "Natural Sciences" so that I could major in Cell Biology...but I also like Kinesiology, which is in "Humanities"...so now what?! I definitely prefer Kinesiology over Cell Bio, but all the other majors in "Humanities" seem really...well, let's just say I'm not too interested in them (ex: English, History, Linguistics, Study of Women, Drama, etc)

Help! Any ideas/suggestions from Rice students or those also applying??

Choose whatever you can write a convincing essay about. The most obvious choice would be what you're actually interested in. If you change your mind before you get to school, it doesn't matter at all. You just make an appointment with a different academic advisor.

Write about what you like more. If it is Kinesiology, then talk about that school and just put in your essay that while you are not interested in most of the humanities, you are interested in Kinesiology. Just be honest. For me, I thought I was more interested in the Natural Science (and I still am), but now I'm a kinesiology major (which is the 3rd one I've switched to). But I did start off in Natural Science. So just like Cincinnatistudent said, whichever you can write the best essay on, do that one.

thanks guys!
