King's College London Dining Hall + Housing for an American Student? Help!

Hi! I was just accepted to KCL as an international student from America, to study history and international relations! I’m very excited, but I also have some questions. Firstly, what is the dining hall situation? Are there meal plans available?? Also is the residence housing very expensive?

Have you looked at the website? Most of what you want to know is online.

Meal plans = catered accommodation. Catered acc typically includes breakfast & dinner, in fairly defined time frames. Most is not catered.

If you are not in catered accommodation there will be kitchen facilities (of varying completeness)

Accommodation is rarely shared bedrooms (it will be specifically stated it is shared), and it will always say whether you have a private bathroom (en-suite) or not.

You choose your residence based on location (how near it is to the buildings your classes are in), whether you want catered accommodation, and your budget. Cheapest (iirc) is ~£150/wk for a 40 week contract up to ~325/wk x 40 (there are studio & 1 bed flats available for ~375-400ish, but they mostly have 51 week contracts). You reapply for housing every year.

There are maps of the residence halls, and floor plans and pictures of the various options on the website.

You have a separate accommodation contract (it’s completely separate). Intercollegiate Hall is shared with University of London students (hence the name)
