I want to major in english then probably follow through with law school. Do you guys have any idea which colleges have really really strong english programs that are interesting? It'd be a bonus if these schools have good law prep too...but if not, it's okay.

I know that Middlebury, Kenyon, and I think may be BU have good english programs. But what do you guys think? It'd be nice if the schools were small too. Thanks!

Try these: Hamilton, Bates, Vassar, Goucher, Skidmore, Beloit, Knox, Franklin & Marshall, Grinnell, St. Olaf, Bowdoin, Bard, Sarah Lawrence, Reed, Macalester, Lawrence, Connecticut College, Oberlin, Swarthmore, Sewanee, Rhodes. If you're female: Smith, Mt. Holyoke, Scripps, Mills, Wellesley.

Really, most liberal arts colleges have decent English departments, however, so you may want to narrow down what you are looking for in terms of location, financial/cost, social scene, etc. and go from there.

Berkeley, the Ivys

You guys, thanks sooo much!! This will be very helpful for me.Anyone else?

English is so popular, and such a traditional discipline, that pretty much any school that does not have a strong techie identity will have a good program.
True, some are more outstanding than others, but I would focus much more on what else you want in a college, as opposed to where has the best English.
