how diverse is the school?

bates is not known for its diverse population, HOWEVER, they are currently in the process of working on increasing diversity. there is diversity all around campus though in terms of cultural backgrounds, not just race...everyone has a different story

thx for answering,, few more questions though
my GPA is 3.8 and i attend academically renowned high school in Long Island (NY).
I know bates college is smart enough to make SAT optional, but should i send my scores? I got 630 on CR, 750 on math, and 670 on writing (10 on essay)...
I know my CR score is pretty low,,,

thx

the 750 on math is very strong, i would recommend you retake the SATs and try to get above 700 in the other areas. above 600 is not poor, but doesn't move you to the head of the pack either so maybe you should consider not submitting. Bates holds nothing against those who do not submit scores. I sent in my ACTs, but I am the only one out of all of my friends here who submitted.

it is however generally tossed around that if your combined scores are over 1300 (old form) that it's worth sending them in. just food for thought.

ahh i cant retake SATs coz that was my second take,,,, my scores improved 250 pts though lol
i forgot to mention that i came to the U.S. three yrs ago,,,

Hi,

You're combined scores are very good. Your 630 is within the reported bates range, and your score in the 700s is outstanding. I would say that you scores would confirm that you're a good student. I would suggest that you go ahead and submit them.

thank you guys...!!!
