Korean Language Study abroad?

I've been searching the internet for hours, and I'm still pretty confused with UT's language study aboard plan. Can only the languages listed on the site be study abroad or can we find our own program? Like Yonsei University for example?

If you don't get what I'm saying I right there with you, I don't even know what I'm talking about. I don't understand the study abroad concept...Lol. -_- But it was worth a try.

Hopefully after a couple of hours of sleep I can clear it up for you.

I dont think that you are under any obligation to take only UT sponsored study abroad programs. However, if you do one that UT does not run there is most likely a less chance you will get financial aid for study abroad specifically, I am assuming, and you will need to talk to your adviser about whether or not the credits will be counted towards your major.

Worried about credits? If you take a class through one of the UT programs, they know EXACTLY how much credit you will get and what requirements it will apply toward. If you take a class through one of the other programs (like Yonsei), the credits need to be “evaluated” at UT. The International Office can tell you how this works. It will likely be fine. Talk to the International office before you go. My D is taking classes overseas this summer at a program that is not on the UT list. The GIAC office is right across from Kinsolving; you could call the Study Abroad people there or stop in and see them. They are very nice.

Yay, thanks for clearing it up. Now my mind’s at ease; the only thing I need to worry about now is getting accepted. ^_^
