Korean Placement Exam in UVA?

Hello. I have a question regarding the Korean PLacement Exams.
Firstly, if you pass the Korean Placement Exam, do you get fulfill your foreign language requirement? (As in, you don't need to take a foreign language anymore?)
Secondly, is the Korean Placement Exam hard? If it is, how should I prepare for it?
Please respond as soon as possible because my orientation is this Monday!! :(

If you pass the Korean placement test with a high enough score, like all other placement exams, you become exempt (fulfill) the foreign language requirement. You DO NOT receive credit for the classes however (the 16 credits you would receive from completion of the normal sequence). Be aware that placement into 1020,2010,2020, etc. are also possible depending on your score.

I have not taken any placement tests, but I do have plenty of friends who have. Be prepared for some spoken Q&A as well as a written test. I had one friend who had to start in 1010 despite knowing how to speak the language because he could not write it. I had another friend who spoke it at home/lived in Korea for a bit who passed it with ease. That said, know how to read and write in Korean?

Hope this helps.
