I'm a native Korean speaker who came here 8 years ago. Would it be worth for me to take a Korean subject test in addition to 2-3 other SAT IIs?

Thanks:)

Yeah I am in a really similar situation actually. Moved from Korean about ~8 years ago. I took the Korean SAT II with Listening last November and got a 800 pretty easily. I think it's worth it because it shows that you excel at Korean as well as English. I also took/will take 3 other SAT IIs: Math II, Physics, and History.

so yeah, go for it. Definitely worth it.

MrPrez, how much did you study for the Korean test?

Yea, I don't see why it would hurt if you do well on the other SAT IIs as well.

i heard private colleges dont really count 800 on math that great of an accomplishment for korean or chinese because its really easy for native speakers. i came from korea to america in 1997, forgot most of my korean, and still scored like 700 on it. the average for korean is 757.

its good for the UCs because they only look at highest scores no matter what the subject is

^ yes that is why i said private colleges.
