Hey, jrcho, trust me. You do NOT want to serve in the army.

You've been in Canada for a fair while now, right? Then it'll be hard for you to adjust when you get in... and when you come out, you'll have forgotten everything you learned in college. Please, do yourself a favour and stay in Canada/US. I don't get that option, unfortunately.

I didn't recognize that you got into Cornell too. Congrats!

Hmm..... I was just thinking about how I would lose touch with reality after serving in the army. It really is a difficult decision, though I am lucky that I have the luxury of being able to make A DECISION. I'm really not sure, but military life always seemed very fun to me.

My parents and I will have to talk about it. I probably won't go, but if I had to, I wouldn't be disappointed.

I dont know where I got that "Canada is lame" comment from, but I take it back. I don't like Vancouver too much, but I like Eastern Canada a lot. I will see... for now.... I (heythatslife too) will be trotting off to Ithaca very soon.

Yes.. Vancouver... such a boring city. O well, I think it's at least better than Ithaca~ :p

Anyways... Wow. Yale SCEA results are taking forever to come out... Not that I'm expecting a good result from it, but o well. I'll just pray to God I guess:D

It's not that I have anything against the military in general. Before I moved back to Korea, when I thought I was going to stay in UK for good, I actually thought of joining the British Army, and I knew a few people in the army and the navy who were encouraging me to do so. I was even in the cadets. It's just that how the ROK Army is run and the stuff that goes on there really appalls me.

o man. Rejected in Yale SCEA. Would going to Vandy be better than top Canadian ones like McGill, UofT, and Queens if I wanna do premed? I really am getting worried with no American safety univ although I can practically go into any program in Canada. sigh geez.

I'd go to the top canadian universities. Plus, vandy is expensive and i'm pretty sure that the top publics are much much cheaper than vandy. (unless you got good finaid..)
Are you applying to other schools (not safteys) in the u.s? Like, jhu, duke, wash u have good premed programmes. and they arnt as competitive as yale.. so that's good..

Yeah, I go to Minjok. My parents wanted me to appy HYP with my scores but Cornell seems to suit me and I'd have no chance at HYP because of my lack of EC's anyway (transferring AND skipping a year and a half of high school really kills your EC's)

lol there is a daum cafe for koreans preparing for college in the us. but i have to say daum's cafe system is kind of boring compared to collegeconfidential and less active.

yeah there's that.... cafe.daum.net/newrealsat or sumthing like that if my memories are correct, but I thought... hm. I don't know... it was just an idea to make the korean members a little bit more active? lol.. what am I saying... hahah -_-;a

well how about making another one for the cc koreans?
I'm not an ******* or anything but frankly that cafe has a lot of people with below average stats and therefore only a few people can actually answer our questions.
