Koreans/Asians at Northwestern

Hi! As I applied to NU and it's probably one of my top choices due to being in Chicago, I was wondering how the number of Koreans or any other Asians fared at Northwestern. I'm from California so I guess its become part of my life to hang out with other Asians of the same type. -___-

You don’t have to worry about that. There are TONS of Koreans and asians here. The asian cultural groups like KASA, TASC, and CSA are among the largest student organizations on campus.

Oh yeah I know your teacher. We Koreans have telepathic connections O_O
But in all honesty, don’t worry.
My girlfriend is Mexican, which makes me the only Korean in my school to do that I think haha.

HAHAHA haha ha

yea koreans dominate the foster-walker “plex” dorm, so if you wanna be amongst them live there.

My S is not Korean, but his roommate is (from Great Neck, Long Island, NY.) Anyway, here’s what S experienced (we’re from SoCal.)

If you are accepted to NU and decide to attend, the local NU alumni group will host a get together, for the incoming students and parents. I strongly suggest you attend this. It will allow you to meet some of your fellow classmates, and odds are some of them will be Korean.

Because NU is on the quarter system and thus starts later than semester schools, the summer between graduation and the start of college tends to drag. My S ended up attending a number of beach parties with the students he met at the alumni gathering.

My S is in the Integrated Science Program and lives in 1835 Hinman. It turns out one of the Korean students he met over the summer (from the OC) is on his same floor at Hinman. At least this year, there are plenty of Korean students living in Hinman. By Korean, I mean of that ancestry. I don’t know how many may be international students.
