Thanks to all for the input!!! I really appreciate hearing these opinions.

I've heard the comment about how other Harvard students view KSG before. My question is: quite frankly, does it matter?

I've applied to KSG because it has what I am looking for: an international curriculum, quantitative rigor, a great track record of employment in the international sector (KSG's name, not necessarily Harvard's) and a great ed school (I am looking to do international education policy).

I'm so confused! I liked American and think I could succeed there but it didn't blow me away. Also, international students make up 10% of the class, so the focus isn't as international as I would like.

Blah (or anybody else) --

Your point about KSG seems consistent with what I've heard from several colleagues. Let me ask you: I'm interested in IR/security policy and weighing betweek KSG, SIPA, SAIS, and SSP at Gtown (and maybe Harris School because they offered me $30K/year).

What are your thoughts, where would you go? Specifically, MPP vs. MIA/MA in IR?? Also, though money is always relevant, I'm in a situation where I won't be graduating with debt.

DC is the place to be for policy and overall connections. I'd go with either SAIS or SFS. Try to visit SAIS if you can and see if Elliot Cohen is around. He can probably give you an idea of the opportunities available in DC. I just noticed hes on leave but try and talk to the faculty at SAIS and SFS if you can. If you want a masters only, then SAIS and SFS are your best bets. KSG if you have any desire to enter academia with a PhD down the road as a SAIS PhD is not as rigorous.
