L&S Breadth - History, Biology

Self-explanatory. Any very easy ways to do these (I plan not to next semester, but maybe the following)? Please give a briefing on work required.

ESPM 50AC for history
For Biology, I would look lower division IB/MCB/PMB/NST courses or Anthro 1

NST 10 (I think it is 10) is known to be very easy, it probably meets the bio breadth req. If it didn’t that would be screwed up

For biology I would recommend NST 11 (Intro to toxicology). Its only two units and there is NO discussion. All you have to do is take two midterms and a final. It’s an interesting and very chill class and there will be three professors that rotate so If you don’t like one then after 6 weeks you get a new prof!!!

^…
it’s so hard… im taking it now lol.
professors are hella boring.

well for biology, if you’re planning to take bio 1a or 1b, which you gotta take for most premed majors, they satisfy the requirement

Oh!! I heard of the nutritional science class, thanks for reminding me actually! It is supposed to be easy, I heard. Thanks thanks thanks.

And this ESPM 50AC requires what kind of work? Actually what does the NST 10 one require as well? Also 2 midterms and a final? (I try to avoid midterms =]).

And I’m a math major, and stay far away from the premed courses =] I want classes without much competition, and absolutely AS easy as possible to pass with minimum work.

EDIT: Forgot to say, thanks for the replies. I’m open to as many suggestions as people can give.

ESPM 50AC has a good amount reading (most of which you can get away with skipping). It is a very easy class and it is very interesting.

The easiest way to fulfill history breath would be to take a 2 unit, P/NP seminar called [Information Technology Goes to War](http://fss.berkeley.edu/seminar.lasso?sem_ID=SM005919). It is fun, goes over interesting material, and is not overly work intensive.

Of course there are some cool classes which are not quite as easy, but interesting enough that I would recommend them in spite of that. History 106B, the history of the Roman Empire, should be an incredible class. If you need to fulfill R&C, you can take L&S R44, Western Civilization, which will fulfill a historical studies breadth too.

This kind of attracts my interest. If I had to choose a class, I’d want something with fewer exams, and more writing assignments. Writing tends to be one of my strengths, and in an easy class, I have seen I’m able to use this to my advantage so that I only really work a few special days when essays are due.

EDIT: One of the classes suggested seems to be a Freshman and Soph. seminar. Does anyone know how likely it is for a junior to get into one of these? I really just want these to be easy, and hopefully even a little interesting, so I hardly mind.

Keep in mind L&S R44 is generally only offered in Fall semesters (but not in F09 apparently)

^^ You’re insanely knowledgeable, I don’t know how you do it.

reading old archived schedules lol.
