no one has posted on their thread and i am wondering if anyone has any insight on this school? my son just got accepted and i have heard that the neighborhood is very bad. and it is also very expensive.

The neighborhood is not great - and to put it in perspective, I am comfortable with my daughter going to college and living in center city phila. I would not want her to travel alone or at night to La Salle.

The neighborhood is not great - but it's getting better. It's a very popular choice for those in the Philadelphia area. Those that I know that have attended have been pleased with their choice and not felt unsafe in the neighborhood. I would agree with the above post I would not want my daughter to travel alone at night (but I wouldn't want her to do that anywhere). My son took a summer class there and he felt comfortable walking around the campus alone and I too walked around the campus alone during the day without any worries.

I'm accepted to La Salle, and I have to say that after visiting the school, I felt very comfortable with the security of the school. Yes, La Salle may not be in the best section of the city, but the campus itself has good security. La Salle is currently one of my first choices for college, along with Bryn Mawr.
