LAC Chances...after ED Rejection from Haverford...

I did a chances thread a while back...and now that ED at Haverford has rejected me...I'm worried again and need some opinions.

Anyways here's my list and projected chances:

Haverford (ED) Rejected :(

Middlebury (Reach)
Hamilton (Reach/Match)
Wesleyan (Reach)
Colgate (Reach/Match
Brandeis (Reach/Match)
Boston College (Match)
University of Rochester (Match)
NYU (Reach/Match)
SUNY (Binghamton, Stony Brook and Geneseo) - (All Safeties....I'm already accepted conditionally to Stony Brook after an on-site admissions interview at my high school))

My friends and my counselor believe that my chances are in the target zone, but after coming to these message boards, I've been scared cold by "chances" posts by applicants with near perfect scores and endless ECs only to have someone respond with "you have a chance" instead of "you have a great chance".

Anyways heres my academic record:

-3.7 (My school does it out of 100...so mine would be 92)
-690M 660CR 650W
-Bio 700 Chem 750 US Hist. 630
-4 APs, 3 Honors By Graduation

ECs:

-School Orchestra
-NYYS Chamber Music Program (I play violin in a striong quartet)
-NYYSMA Exam (During middle school though) Level 5 - 98 Level 6 - 97
-Key Club (Through this club I've done lots of community service such as soup kitchens, park clean ups and walks such as AIDS walk or March of Dimes)
-Volunteer Lab Assistant (Summer job...counts as both work experience and volunteer I guess. I worked in a lab studying possible vaccines for malaria in rodent models).
-Treasurer for Badminton Club

Other Stuff:

Asian Male (Born in China, Citizen of China and Perm.Res. of US)
Both parents are reserachers (Both went to college in China)
No Religion
Middle Class Income
Public School (Bronx Science, 565 Seniors, No Ranking, Very Competitive)
Might send in a recording of my violin playing...but unsure whether the quality of my playing will turn on or turn off the admissions officers/ music chairman.

I would say

Middlebury-Slight Reach
Hamilton-Safe Match
Wesleyan-Reach
Colgate-Match
Brandeis-High Match
Boston College-High Match
University of Rochester-Safe Match, depends on which School you apply to if any specific
NYU-High Match

Thats a rather confident evaluation...thnx.

Though I beg to differ in terms of difficulty getting into Colgate and Hamilton...they are harder than BC or NYU IMO.

I'm applying Rochester's College of Arts and Sciences (the main undergrad college). I'm not majoring in music (I'll probably minor, and I can cross register at the Eastman School for that), so that wouldn't be a problem.

I've been getting mixed feelings after rejection (Which seems harsher than a defferal). I'm praying for Hamilton, COlgate and Middlebury(my Midd essay is terrible though).

Need one more opinion Plz!

Middlebury (Reach)
Hamilton (Match)
Wesleyan (Reach)
Colgate (Match)
Brandeis (Match)
Boston College (Match)
University of Rochester (Match)
NYU (Match)

You're most likely to get into U of R, NYU, and BC - your SAT M+CR scores are well above the median for all these schools. Hamilton, Colgate, and Brandeis are somewhat less likely. Your SAT scores are right about the median for each. Figure you have about a 50/50 chance for these schools. Wesleyan and Middlebury are both pretty big reaches and it's unlikely you'll get into either.

As far as sending in a recording of your violin playing, unless you are a truly superb violin player, it's probably not a good idea. The adcoms won't listen to it and unless you're absolutely sure it will impress the chairman of the music department, it will more likely hurt than help your chances.

^^^Thnx for the evaluation.

My dad thinks the recording is great and my instructor is also impressed...but personally I feel that there are too many flaws in the technique and the expression of the song, so I won't be sending it in.
