First, I'd just like to note that this is not meant to turn into a "What are my chances?" type of thread. Rather, I have a situation that I'm afraid might affect my chances at transferring and would like advice on how to make up for application deficiencies if possible.

Just recently I completed my second semester/first year at Solano Community College, which is a little under an hour away from Berkeley. Upon completion of my first semester I started to really think about my future and what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go college-wise. Like many others using this forum, I found out about Haas and have had my eyes on it ever since. I've done quite a bit of research on the school and have planned out my coursework that I will be taking this upcoming Fall and next semester. If all goes well, which it should, I will have all of the prerequisites done that are required for possible admission and a 4.0 to boot.

Although everything sounds fine so far, I have two major flaws when it comes to the application for admission. The website states that 50% is based on grades and course work, 35% on essays, and 15% on the resume. The grades and course work should be fine as well as the essays. However, when it comes to the resume I am severely lacking. I've always focused on school and put a job on hold as I didn't want to risk my performance in school. That being said, I don't have any work experience nor internships under my belt. On top of that, I've never really found extracurriculars that I enjoy or excel in (partially because I've had rheumatoid arthritis since I was 12 and now find difficultly/pain in simple movements such as walking on many days), which is why I haven't participated in any except a musical performance I did in high school a little over a year ago. I would do more musicals as I found that to be one of the first times that I truly felt "normal" since my condition worsened, but I just don't have the time nor money to do a musical theater class at the CC.

So if you've read this and have any ideas what I can do given my situation, I'd greatly appreciate hearing them. I've been looking for a summer job lately, but I feel like even if I did land one it'd be in retail and that it'd be too late to make a significant impact on my application. Other than that I'm stuck on what to do. Many of the posts on these forums are from outstanding students with a high GPA, internships, job experience, and lots of extracurriculars that probably wouldn't have any worries applying, but I only have the grades.
