I have two rising high school sophmores, twin boy and girl, who both are good lacrosse players. Does anyone have any insights on getting recruited?

Yes!

Get good grades. In general, the best lacrosse schools are some of the best colleges and universities in the country. Lax will help, but you still need to reach certain cutoff levels.

Work on the lacrosse skills. Live with the stick! An informal catch every day is a good thing.

This summer they should attend a camp or two -- as rising juniors and seniors, the lacrosse camp (think recruiting camp) is important. If you can do some of the camps that are held at colleges the kids are interested in -- they will meet the coaching staff and soak up some (summer) atmosphere at various schools. It helps with figuring out just what they want to do.

The coaches will actually tell you they want multi sport athletes -- so play a second sport and maybe a third. And keep having those catches.

Get good grades. Get good scores. The ECs will take care of themselves if the kids are good enough to be recruited.

Don't expect a full ride scholarship. There are very few for mens lacrosse. I don't know the stats on women's.

My son made up his goal chart every January. He had some specific goals for his season, and had a plan on how to get there. He also made up his college list of schools he was interested in. He developed his list from the Top 20 D1 schools -- and then worked backwards to eliminate schools based on academics and other fit items.

He attended 2-3 college-coach-operated camps every summer, visited a lot of schools. That exposure got him invited to some exclusively elite recruiting camps as a rising senior.

End result was that he was contacted by a LOT of schools, and recruited and offered slots (last JULY) at 3 schools that were good fits, and a fourth that was not a good fit but was dangling more serious scholarship money. He'll be attending his first choice school this fall.
