LACs for anthropology

Perferably in Midwest

Do you qualify for financial aid? What is your max out of pocket that your family can pay?

I’ve heard excellent things about the anthropology department at Carleton. In fact, I spoke to an alum today, and the classes and research projects he told me that many sociology/anthropology majors participate in sounded amazing.

I don’t know what my parents could pay, but I would rely on financial aid most likely. Carleton looks like a great school, but it’s still a 10-hour drive from where I live…too far from MI. :)

Grinnell College; don’t know your stats or how far this is from where you live though…I was just at the college and speaking to someone talking about how there were a pretty large number of anthro majors, so it must be a good department!

You said schools in the Midwest and MN is in the Midwest so…how about OH, MI, IN, PA???

You need to have an estimate for your EFC and how much of that you can afford to pay. It is rather pointless to suggest a LAC for you with a price of $50000 when you have an EFC of $20000 but your family can only afford to pay $10000. Where is that extra $10000 going to come from?

Seconding Grinnell. Also, Bryn Mawr and Beloit.

Beloit’s fairly close - about 5 hours. I mean, I could get home in less than a day. Is Beloit a good school?

Beloit is an excellent school.
