... I know of Chicago ... any others we should know about? THX

Beloit College is well known for its anthropology program, and in fact has a museum of anthropology on campus.

D's roommate chose Barnard because she said it offered so many field assignments.

If you consider the undergraduate origins of PhD's in anthropology, here are the schools that send the highest percentage of students on to doctorates in anthropology:

Bryn Mawr

Beloit

Grinnell

U of Chicago

Reed

Goddard

Pomona

Sarah Lawrence

In terms of undergrad origins of female anthropology phds:
1. Bryn Mawr
2. Beloit
3. Pomona
4. Reed
5. Chicago
6. Grinnell
7. Yale
8. Hampshire
9. Sarah Lawrence
10. Wesleyan

I'm a bit biased, but Beloit's anthropology faculty and resources really are incredible for a small school. My daughter is a cultural anthro minor there, so email me if you have questions.

Thank you!

FYI...Haverford students can major in departments at Bryn Mawr as well. So, if you went to Haverford, you could major in anthro at Haverford or at Bryn Mawr and vice versa. So, depending on your other interests, feel/fit issues you might want to consider both of those colleges...
