S22 accepted! Super excited about this. Questionā€¦ if merit aid is/will be awarded, will that be in the acceptance letter or sent separately? Do not qualify for need aid but cannot afford sticker price. Thanks!

Waitlisted which is surprising but not shocking. My sonā€™s stats are in the top 10% of typically admitted students (CollegeVine, which has been accurate for us until today, shows he has a 90% chance of acceptance). But he struggled with demonstrating interest - we have had to cancel two trips out there and he just isnā€™t the type to strike up convos with AO - plus our EFC is pretty low and his interview didnā€™t go well (there was a time miscommunication, he felt it impacted overall attitude)ā€¦I know all of these things are important to Lafayette and it adds up to WL, it seems. Cā€™est la vie and onward for him. Praying tomorrow has better outcomes!

Congrats to all accepted. Lafayette seems wonderful!

There was a hyperlink for financial aid at the bottom of the letter (or maybe the decision portal, not sure). We almost missed it. D received a merit award.

Our Merit was in the financial aid letter which was linked in the acceptance.

Where are people finding this hyper link for merit? DS was accepted (loved the personalized letter!) but no mention of merit.

My merit was mentioned in the letter and there was a link after scrolling to the bottom of the decision letter called ā€œFinancial Aid Letterā€ā€¦ then inside there it was under ā€œScholarships and Grantsā€

My S22 didnā€™t apply for financial aid so there is no hyperlink to a financial aid letter on the acceptance letter. Guess that means no merit aid?!? Does anyone who did not send in the FAFSA/CSS receive merit aid? Thanks!

We did not apply for aid but there was a link at the bottom of the acceptance letter that said financial aid. BUT we did not receive any merit. :frowning:

Pretty sure my dd checked not applying for financial aid on common app, but we did send in the fafsa and css. They were required for some schools so we sent to all. DD did get a scholarship which I assume was merit. Our EFC is listed on the form as over $200000 so I donā€™t think itā€™s need based.

You do not need to send in the FAFSA/CSS for merit aid. I know they are moving funding towards less merit and more need-based aid though. Last application cycle (class of 2025) they planned to offer 40 Marquis Fellowships (full tuition) and 60 Marquis Scholarships (half tuition). This year, it is cut to 25 and 40 awards, respectively.
