My interview would have taken place later into the winter and it wouldn’t have made sense since I would’ve already received a decision from Lafayette. @SmartBeast

Ok.That would be a Regular Decision interview. Why would you do it that way? @Shaldy2

@SmartBeast I didn’t do it that way because it made no sense to

@captainclueless hey, I’ve read all of your other posts. I was wondering if there was anyway you could keep us updated.

@captainclueless isn’t working for Lafayette this year

My son is applying regular decision and did do an interview. He loved Lafayette during his visit. Wishing all of you all good luck on getting admitted!

Captain Clueless is still a student at Lafayette this year but is no longer the point person for CC. I remember a young woman took his place last spring and after a few posts, seems to have disappeared. I have a freshman at Lafayette who absolutely is loving the whole experience. It is the perfect fit. Good luck to all throughout the admissions process.

I don’t think there really is anything Lafayette can send out to you guys, that’ll help you feel better. The best thing to do, is wait. You gotta be patient. Also, there’s an acceptance rate. Some of you will feel better after getting the decision, some will feel worse. Be prepared for either case. For the record, I applied ED too, and got deferred to eventually get accepted in RD. Be patient, and try and relax as much as you can. It’s chill time.

Thank you @sixstringrocker ,@Gemblu and @deborahb . Ahh I will try to relax. What is wrong with me ? What is simply wrong with me? I really feel like knowing what’s going on in the minds of the Admissions Officers. The fact that everyone is bolstering my point that Lafayette is a great school doesn’t help :(

thank you for the good lucks I honestly don’t know if reading through this thread is making me calm or more anxious.
@sixstringsrocker can you tell us a little more about your background when you applied?

International student from Nepal
Composite SAT = 1410
TOEFL 114
no ranking, not on GPA system (it would be probably around 3.80-3.90)
Lots of ECs : establishing libraries, starting clubs, years of graphics design background, tinkering with electronics, etc
Very good recommendations
First generation college student

I’m not exactly sure what more is relevant.

@sixstringsrocker thank you for the info. It’s just really hard to know whether a school is going to think you are good enough or not

Because it’s not black and white. I never thought I could get in. Get off the computer for a while, relax. Do things you like. You can’t do anything other than wait. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to get stressed in the future.

I really hope I’m not being wicked for wanting to be accepted over others who will be denied. I really want this. :(

@sixstringsrocker
What made you want to go to Lafayette? I am so curious. :)

It’s a difficult question, and I think more than anything it was a matter of luck. The financial aid offer was amazing, too good to pass.

Aside from that, it was their engineering program, and lack of graduate school. I was impressed with the senior design projects (in my eyes, they were glamorous), and I liked that there’d be no graduate students who’d steal time from the professors, and if I wanted to work with the profs, I’d work with them, not for some grad students/post docs.

Hi there I’m an applicant in the ED pool too:D. Sorry but I’m not that confident to share my stats, but Lafayette has always been my first choice since my campus visit last summer. I love the silent and peaceful scene at Lafayette, and I met many of cool and friendly students there too. However I’m so worry that I cannot make it to Lafayette since my SAT score and ECs are not really stand out. But it hurts nothing to put Lafayette in my ED choice:D

@GiangNam what country are you from ? Let me guess… Vietnam?

Good luck everyone!! My oldest is a Freshman at Lafayette this year and he loves it. I am following this thread anxious to see all your decisions. :)

@btlsmum What sort of person is your son? Sportsy, intellectual??? Which dorm does he live in? What does he love about it? I feel that my son may very likely end up at Lafayette, so I am curious.
