Lakeside Complex Bus?

Freshman here, I originally planned to live with a friend in Jennings, but due to unforeseen circumstances I now live in Lakeside. As a result I'm now looking for opinions and tips for transportation from Lakeside!

I've got 2 bikes, and a car that I'm bringing with me, and have no idea how I'll get to the more heavily populated northeast sector of the campus.

Biking from Lakeside would leave me sweaty and smelling burnt, which I'm hoping to avoid. (But biking between classes would be fine).

I hear RED3 parking is fairly packed, but then I could theoretically bring a folding bike with me to and from places, provided people are okay with me rolling a folded bike into classes. (Folding bikes are particularly more attractive than other bikes I hear).

Finally there's the bus route, I'm absolutely clueless how the buses operate, but according to a friend they start at 7 AM and continue all day providing "buses every 5 minutes" according said friend. In that case I'll bring the cheap bike (non-folding) and bike in between classes and such.

Thanks!

Bus 125 (Lakeside) will take you from Lakeside to the HUB which is close to Plaza of the Americas, from there it’s a short walk to the NE part of campus (Business Area). If you will be riding a bus, plan accordingly to account for delays and such, especially when it’s exam time. You will learn the bus routes with time. Have any other questions? PM me.

The buses also have bike racks on the front, so you can take the 125 to the Hub, bike between classes during the day, and take the 125 back to Lakeside at the end of the day. Midterm exams are typically after 8 pm (a few are in class), during which time I don’t think the 125 bus runs. You could take the 126 after a night exam, but it’ll be a longer ride. Final exams are typically in the morning or afternoon, so depending on how early yours are, you could take the bus/bike to them. Weekend exams…most/all buses don’t run, so you’re definitely gonna be biking. This likely won’t happen during midterms, but most likely during finals.

Living in Lakeside, you don’t really need a bike, let alone two. You should NEVER need to use your car on a regular school day. Buses routinely stop at Lakeside and will take you to central campus (where all your classes should be), no problem.
