Landis Hall Dorms

I'm participating in the care summer bridge program this summer and I'm being asked what kind of dorm do I want. Can anyone explain to me the difference between "doubles (most common assignment)" and doubles with bath? All I know is I don't want one of those community bathrooms which the entire dorm hall shares. The less people to my bathroom the better

I guess doubles w/ bath look like this:
[The Florida State University - University Housing](http://housing.fsu.edu/housing/ungrad/lanfloor.html)

If you are applying for Landis, you are going to have a semi-private bathroom, which is shared by ~4 people, between two rooms, as Landis is a suite-style dorm.

What you’re talking about not wanting are the community-style dorms, which are not open during the summer anyway.

As for Fall/Spring, if you are just now applying for housing for those terms, you’re pretty much going to be relegated to the community-style dorms, as housing priority numbers are up above 6000 already, and the cutoff for suite-style typically ranges from around 4000-4500, based off recent years’ data.

For landis dorms, care is giving me the option this summer between double and double with bath. I thought landis was suite style for everyone who lived in it? So if I get a double for landis wouldnt I have a bathroom regardless ? What would be the difference between that and a double with bath then if the “double” already includes a bathroom?

Double is you shared a bathroom with another room. Two rooms with a bathroom in between comprise a suite in this case and the bathroom is thus shared by 4-5 people.

Double with bath is when the bathroom is shared only by the room, so the suite is just the double room and the bathroom. In essence, you’re paying for the bathroom to be shared with one other as opposed to 3-4 others.
