I am currently in my second year of a language(I'm a soph)
Although, I get A's in the class, I dislike it because I have a hard time with the oral parts of the tests. and it doesn't interest me.
My original plan was to take the same language from level 1-4, so all four yrs of high school
But now I kind of want to stop at level 2
Instead I might do stats ap.
Will it hurt my chances in getting admitted into colleges. Most only require 2 yrs, but prefer 4.
Also, I'm not taking any other fine arts classes.

Personally I would go for three years of a language. I’m not sure if two would hurt your chances of getting admitted to certain colleges; I suggest you email some of the colleges that you’re interested in and ask them or check out their foreign language requirements on their websites.

Language classes are pure memorization, so much easier than evil Honors English classes. I’d say stick with it.

An excuse that it’s “hard” really isn’t a valid point to quit.

Stick with it.

Foreign language is just memorization/effort. What’s the problem with it? Granted, we don’t have oral tests, but still, it probably only counts for a small portion.

Same where I’m at, you only need 2 language credits to graduate. Some people go all the way to AP. But if your goal was to take your language 1-4, you should probably stick with it. But it’s all up to you. I don’t think it’ll hurt your chances if you only took 2.

It’s true, colleges do prefer 4 years, but I don’t think it would make much difference if you decided to do stats instead of a language class. If I were you, I’d shoot for at least 3 years of foreign language then double up.

I see your points
the memorization is the easy part which allows me to do well.
The oral part (especially on tests when a pre recorded message is played, I mess up a lot)
From level I to II, the amount of oral has increased.
So it depends on how the next semester goes & checking requirements at colleges
