Language Placement Test

Has anyone here taken the Spanish placement test at UVa? I've taken the SAT 2 and have placed into the last required semester with my score (202), but I'd really like to place out completely. Therefore, I want to take the placement test at UVa, but I'm unsure of how difficult it is in comparison to something like the SAT 2. Also, anyone have any recommendations on preparing for the exam? They have prep books and stuff for the SAT 2, but I guess I just don't know anything (format, content, etc) about the placement test at UVa. Thanks, any help would be much appreciated

Hey, I took the online placement Spanish exam about a month ago, and can assure you that with a somewhat solid spanish base you'll be able to get a very high score. If I'm not mistake the test is very short, about 10 questions? (took it a long while ago), and the questions are not tricky at all. If you got a decent score on your spanish SAT II then you will get a good score in this test thats for sure. I got a 888 in the placement test without too much trouble.

Actually I think the deadline for the online test passed....Does anyone know anything about the placement exam that one would take at summer orientation, or during the first week of fall semester?
Thanks

Aless, aren't you a native speaker of spanish? Of course you got a good score. You got an 888 with no trouble, but others may find it a bit more difficult...

No yea I definitely realize that, but since he said that with his SAT II he got placed in the 202 class, then I'm guessing he did pretty well. And comparing the SAT II spanish test with the UVA placement test, I think that the SAT is even a bit harder, so he should probably have no real trouble with it. Yea your right Cav I'm native spanish speaker, so I guess I dont really count haha, but if someone does 600+ in the spanish SAT, then I'm almost certain that the UVa one won't be too difficult.

Aless, or anyone who has taken the exam, what types of questions are on the exam? Reading comprehension, verb conjugations, are they multiple choice, etc... Thanks, any help would be appreciated
