I’m currently class of 2017 and I would love to apply to Princeton, but I just noticed their really strong recommendation for 4 years of a foreign language. I’ve only taken two years of Spanish, and I was wondering if this would negatively hinder my application a lot, and if so what could I do about it?
It will probably negatively impact your application, but there’s not much you can do about it other than explain, or have your GC explain, why you only took two years of Spanish.
Well that’s no good : /
Thank you anyway though
If anyone else has any advice on the situation please let me know too!!!
Do you have the option to self study Spanish this coming semester?
I could probably work in some time for it, but I’m concerned that it’s too little time until the exam and I don’t really have the strongest foundation
That’s understandable. In that case it might be best to focus on your other course work. Are you planning to apply AB or BSE? While 4 years of language looks great on an application, the language requirement while at Princeton does not apply to BSE students.
