<p>The Lanier Scholarship is only for a few counties in the metro Atlanta area. I received an email today saying I was one of 11 finalists for the scholarship and someone would call me soon with interview details. However, I have no idea how many people apply for it or how competitive it is. A girl from my school did get the scholarship last year though and currently attends Vanderbilt. She was a National Merit Finalist, scored slightly over 1500 on the SAT I believe, and was editor of the yearbook.</p>
