Laptop Computers

doesn't seem to be as long as your careful with your things. i've definitely heard stories about people getting their laptops stolen (only one or two), but if you lock your room when you should and dont leave your laptop out in the open, i dont think it will happen. you can buy a lock if you want though. i dont beleive they're terribly expensive.

Acer laptops are fine, by the way. as far as technical support goes, i'm not too sure, but i know acer is one of the few lines that carries AMD chips in their notebooks, and that the acer ferrari line is pretty nice. the dell that i got was in my month or so searching the best deal i've seen from any brand.

Actually I was thinking of one of the Acer travelmate series which has the foll specs:
Centrino Pent M 1.7Ghz
80GB
512MB DDR
DVD -/+ RW and CD RW combo
XP Home
MS Works
WLAN
128MB VGA
15.0inch XGA
card reader
1 yr carry in warranty
how does that sound? all for a cool $980

yeah that's a pretty solid deal. my dell has similar specs but in a smaller package for $200 more. the only one i've seen that's like yours is the HP dv4000 (if you buy through costco).
