Laptop help

I am looking into purchasing a laptop, I know a little bit about computers, but it never hurts to have a little help. Anyway, I was looking at an Acer on Newegg. It costs abut $1600. It runs Intel Core Duo T2500 (2.0 ghz), Windows XP Pro, 15.4", 2GB ram, 120 GB HD @ 5400 rpm (I would rather have 7200 but it doesn't have that), ATI X1400 128MB (I wouldn't be gaming on it). It says for wireless, it's 802.11 a/b/g. I don't know if that means it's capable to have those or if it has a wireless card in it. I am not sure if I can put the link on here or not, so I won't but I can PM it if necessary. I just am curious as to if this is a good deal or, if not, what I can look into that would be better. Any feedback is appreciated.

It's the Acer TravelMate TM4674WLMi to be specific.

PM michele . . I think that's her username. she's really good with these things

STAY AWAY FROM ACER. Avoid Acer LIKE THE PLAGUE. I had a terrible experience with Acer. Their computers are terrible, their sound system is terrible, CPU is slow, screen isn't bright, battery life mediocre, memory lacking, service atrocious, heats up like nobody's business, fans loud to the point of annoyance, and are not worth the money you'll pay.

I'm serious.

Ok then, I appreciate that, anyone know of something similar and better to buy?
