Should I bring my laptop to orientation? Does it help to have it?

I’m not sure it would help, because I don’t know the difference in speeds between the netbook they hand you and the computer you have to bring, but I’m sure if you wanted to, you could. A wireless mouse would help too.

The ones they provide you are pretty good, I wouldn’t bring it.

You can bring it but you won’t have wifi in Manzanita because you will need a Resnet login. If anything, bring your own mouse. The touch pads are smaller than ones on an average laptop for some reason. I didn’t bring a mouse and was able to register for all of my classes but some people suggest bringing one.

But wouldn’t having one’s own laptop allow him to navigate GOLD faster, because I hear the touch pads on the ones they give you suck ass. I can’t find a mouse :'(

Bring your own laptop then. I’m sure anything’s better than the 6" netbook with a mousepad that has an area of like 2 that they lend you…

my orientation adviser straight up told me she wouldn’t let me use my own laptop in Academic Advising sessions for whatever reason.

Oh wow. That’s a little extreme.

the mouse is a good idea only that there wasnt enough space in the room i was in to go down on the ground in order to use the mouse, but what i did was just go to control panel and made the speed of the touchpad to the max setting and got used to it before going on gold, needless to say i got every class i desired
