At once meaning for that year, semester, block, whatever schedule your school is on.
How many and which ones were they?
Was it manageable for you and how did you get through the year?

I'm trying to give my junior year schedule as much thought as possible. There is a new policy at my school that you won't be allowed to drop APs no matter what. Once you sign up, you have to take the class.

Well,my school doesn’t label anything AP because they don’t believe in “teaching to the test.” But the courses are pretty rigorous and do prepare you well, IMO. In my case, I took 4 tests in one year: Calc BC, Physics C, Euro, Art Hist. Scored all 5’s

It was a LOT of work, Particularly Physics and Euro. but I got through it. The advantage is I’m a math/science guy who also has a passion for history. If it were 4 classes I did not feel passionate about, I would not do it

My school offered four AP classes last year and seven this year.
We have block scheduling, and last year I took one AP class the first semester (Biology) and two (Chemistry, English Literature) the second semester. I took seven AP tests, which included the ones for my classes as well as Statistics, Calculus BC, US History, and US Government. My actual classes weren’t all that difficult, but I procrastinated a lot studying for the tests, so I got two 3s and five 4s.
This year I took four university classes (through dual enrollment on a college campus) first semester and five second semester.

My school has 4 periods per day, with an A day / B day schedule, so 8 classes at a time.

This year I have 4 AP classes (English Lit, US Gov, Stats, Physics). I am doing AP Macro as an independent study (so I have a class period dedicated to it, it’s not a self-study course that I do completely on my own time), and I can earn 5 credits for my Spanish class (Elementary Spanish II).

So depending on how you count Macro and Spanish, I have 4-6 AP courses at once. It’s really not that bad in and of itself, but on top of the six thousand scholarships I’m applying for, it gets pretty tough.

I’ve only ever heard of 3 people doing this (including myself) mainly because you’re supposed to take chem as a junior, but I doubled up during sophomore year. It sucked. So much. My grades went from all 96+ sophomore year to low 90s junior year, but I got a 5, 4, and 5, respectively, on the AP exams, so I guess it’s okay, haha.

This year I’m taking Calc AB and Music Theory, the only remaining APs that are offered at my school except for Studio Art and the workload is a lot more manageable (although I do suck at math … but that’s another story).
