Hey guys, i have a quick question? How many ap tests have u guys been able to handle in one year? and which ones?

im gonna take 3 next year (junior)
ap stat
ap us history
ap eng lit

Well my school offers 5 aps.

-Biology sophomore year
-Calc, Stat, and U.S. History in junior year
-Maybe spanish senior?

Quick question: is there a limit to how many APs you can take in one year? No, right? I'm a rising junior, and if I decide to take say 5 aps this year, would that be possible?

Some guy took 12 aps.

I took 5 AP classes last year (junior year) . . . I'm planning on taking at least 5 next year too.

A limit on how many classes you can take might be a school policy, but certainly not a CB policy. Just make sure your school doesn't have some sort of policy against how many you take.

As for how many you can handle, that's a personal thing. I took 5 this past year and still managed to play varsity golf, perform with the orchestra, participate in 5-6 clubs, have office positions in clubs, and still find time for fun (don't forget, this is important too). So, yeah some people take 12 in one year, but I think it's sort of a give and take situation. How much time are you willing to put into academics/other things.

My school limits students to 3 APs Junior year and 3 APs Senior year. We can't take any APs Sophomore or Freshman year. Only 5 students out of 400 are allowed to take 4 APs senior year.

Supposedly this rule is meant to prevent people from taking on too large of a workload. But it also restricts people from getting a higher GPA, which is not fair as other schools let people take 6+ APs a year.

You can take as many as you want

The AP State Scholars take like 20 or more

So if my school has a limit (I will ask), can I take the rest some other way?

I was going to take 6-7 ap tests junior (next) year. But we moved, so due to gym/health and other bs, I'm only taking 4-5.

my school has 7 periods a day, so that is the max you can take...

think about your ec's.... i did ap chem, ap english, and ap calc this year while working after school monday - thursday and doing no schoolwork on friday or saturday... i wouldn't have been able to handle the reading for ap u.s.

think about how hard the ap's are at your school... are they really time consuming with a lot of reading? will you need to spend more time getting extra help?

lots of people at my school tried to take 4 plus lots of ec's and they were crazy stressed during the year...

don't take 4 or 5 if you that it too much to handle, b/c then you will not be successful on the exams...

hope that helped

I took four last year (Junior year) and it wasn't too bad. It depends a lot on your teachers, though. Most of my teachers last year were really good, so that made everything a lot easier [US History, Calc AB (took BC test), Biology, and English Language].

I'm going to take four or five this year; I expect my teachers to be equally as good [Stats, Physics C, US Gov't, English Lit, Environmental(?)].

I took Physics C, Biology, Computer Science AB, English Literature, and both Economics exams in the same year. CB lets you take as many as you want.

i took 10 this year (if you count Physics C as two tests), self studied 4 of them (psych, env. sci, macro/micro), it wasnt that bad at all. the spanish program at our school wasnt that good, that was the only test I'm worried about (still havent gotten my scores in the mail yet...still waiting...)

I'm pretty sure I can handle all of them, but if my school doesn't let me take that many, can I take them at a different school or something?

dang, firebird, ur crazy, let us kno what u get k?

gxing, i believe all schools should let u take as many ap tests as u want, but if they do not let u take the course at school, then self-studying is the best option.

ill have 13 or 14 by graduation but to me 6-7 exams senior year is max. I took 5 last year.

I only could handle 7 AP tests last year. I know a guy who did 12. And the valedictorian at his school did around 18! There's some crazy people out there! I don't know how they do it. I bow to them in servitude.

vtran on this forum took some crazy ammount, and if i recall correctly, did pretty well on all of them.

you know what. those scores vtran put up. i'm gonna report it as an "offensive post" because it offends my self-esteem just to look at it. lol jk
