Last ACT test ever.

I have two weeks until my last ACT test ever. I need a 32 to have a good chance at getting into some of the schools I'm applying to. My break down on the October test was
English 27
Math 27
Reading 31
Science 24.

I know how to improve science, I'm already doing a lot better, but I'm not sure how to get my english and math up to above a 30. Any help is really needed! I am using sparknotes for English now,is that good? Thanks everyone!

i used princeton review (1,296 practice questions) and the real act prep guide =)
just practice as much as you can, each section at a time and make sure to time yourself so you can pace yourself. i solved around 500 questions in the 1,296 practice questions book the friday before my test (right after school) and i got a 33 in english and 35 in math =)
good luck!

Thanks sweetdreamzzz!!! Any more opinions are really welcomed!

I don’t have much homework tonight so I’m going to be doing a lot of ACT, so any advice on what to study from what books would be great!!!

I am also preparing for the ACT that is coming up next week (this is my first time taking it). All the practice tests I have been taking indicate that I will get a good score (the first test I got 36M/34E/34R/36S [35 Comp] and the second one I got a 35M/33E/36R/36S [35 Comp]) so I am pretty sure that I should get a 34 at least. The one main thing I have had an issue with is time, which shows with my second math score and my english scores. I never have time to go back and look over my answers!

How does this help me?

Less than a week, any more suggestions?

just do act red book, it really helps. but i have a question too. this is going to be my first and final ACT so should i send scores directly or wait? the colleges i’m applying to are a few ivies and top schools and i’m pretty confident i can pull of a 30+ score, should i notify the ACT administration to send scores directly?

don’t use the Princeton Review or Kaplan. I solved tons and tons of practice tests from these brands because they were easy and “detailed”. But truthfully, its a waste of money if you’re looking to challange yourself. I switched to Barrons last year and it helped a ton. Barrons may not be everyone’s favorite, but it has lots of practice tests and it is very challenging. My ACT increased from a 30 to a 34 after solving like 3 of these books

You solved three barrons books? like 36, the regular one and what else? I just want to know what I should do this week…

And are there any suggestions, specifically for math and english?

Well right now I’m finishing up the last test in the real ACT book (the red one). In case you haven’t done them already, the booklet from last year and this year’s booklet are available online (to get the recent one just go to study aids, and to get last years sign into your account and check the same spot; last years test should be there).

Honestly what is it that is troubling you in Math/English? For me it’s just time (and one or two tricky problems) that is holding me back from attaining the elusive 36.
