Thanks so much!!!! :)

Sorry but imo you are nowhere near competitive enough for those ivies. Your GPA is too low to ignore, but you do have great ECs. Every other school seems reachable though.

CHANCE ME BACK PLEASE.

I have no idea what the above poster means when he says that your GPA is too low. 3.9 is definitely fine. However, I’m not sure what your school is like, but only taking two AP courses so far kind of looks bad if you could’ve taken more AP courses in your schedule. But I do have to agree with him that your EC’s are terrific. I’d be worried about your test scores though.

-Princeton - high reach
-Brown - reach
-Cornell (College of Human Ecology) - low reach?
-Tufts University - low reach
-Brandeis University - match
-Vassar College - match
-Johns Hopkins University (Arts and Sciences) - reach
-University of Rochester - match

Good luck!

Superb ECs and test scores! I think you have slight reaches for Princeton and Brown but matches for the rest.

And I was wondering, how did you achieve a 4.31 GPA with only 2 APs? I have taken 8 in high school so far, and my cumulative for sophomore and junior year is not that high. No AP’s were offered for sophomore year though, so I suffer :(

Your numbers (gpa and sats) are average. They aren’t low, just average. Which means that you’ll have a lot of competition.
However, your ecs will help you in the admissions process.
Agree with chaosakita in terms of individual schools.
Good luck! Hope you get into your dream school :D

Thanks guys!! :)

Re: Course Rigor/APs.
It was only feasible in my school to take 2-3 APs junior year to fit in the schedule.
This year, I am taking AP Bio, AP Calc BC, AP Physics B, and AP Gov and Politics/Comparative Politics. Hopefully that will show the schools that I have a rigorous course load and have taken the most challenging classes.

Re: GPA
Our GPA system is way weighted (and inflated), everyone’s weighted GPAs are very high, but everything is accurate in the unweighted category. I was hoping a 3.9 would be decent for most schools… Lol.

Thanks for the comments on the ECs… I have put a great amount of effort in everything I do.
Any other input is greatly appreciated :)

3.9 is decent. It’s pretty good. dont stress too much… just sit back and wait for the good news :)

Thanks YuhikoJay for the reassurance. Any others? :)

Your GPA is fine; I don’t see how a 3.9 unweighted isn’t good enough. Your SAT scores won’t make you stand out when it comes to the Ivy League, your ECs are pretty solid. You have a good chance at all your schools, but the it’s hard to tell with the Ivy League. The rest of the schools you should be fine. Good luck!
