Sorry for the double post. I didn't know there was a board just for the SAT's/ACT's

I was wondering which SAT is more important and also the best interest for me to take the SAT this week so I have a better chance of getting into a UC university.

For the SAT Reasoning Test I have a 1680 (Math: 650 CR: 520 Writing: 510)

For the SAT II Subject tests I have:
Chem: 660
US History: 600
Math IC: 640

As you can see, by looking at my SAT scores, which SAT should I'd be taking this week? SAT Reasoning or SAT II?

Another question: Is it REQUIRED for freshmen applicants to take the Math IIC? My father and I are kind of confused. <.<

SAT defiently! Although you SAT II's could use some help, they are not too bad. Unfortunately, your SAT score is a little low.. colleges place more emphasis on the SAT than the SAT IIs.

And no, it is not mandatory to take any speicifc subject tests .. you must take 2 or 3 SAT II's depending on what you like and what you are good in!
**However - many colleges do not like the Math IC test because it is basically like the SAT math .. If you take pre-calc or an advanced math class, you should definetly take IIC .. if you are not going to be a math/sci major... you really do not have to worry about it

I'm not sure about this, but I don't think that UCs will accept the Math IC- they want the IIC. This is definitely the message that my son's HS counselor gave to his class.

i think it depends on the person a.s.a.p.. you obviously cant take the IIC if you did not take pre-cal/alg. II trig ..... for some people take IC will suffice... just my opinion ..
