Math IC?

Hey so I am a sophomore and I'm taking Math IC this summer. Should I wait until next year to take math IIC, because I hear it does not really matter which one you take as long as you do well. Does one bare more weight then the other? Also, if I want to apply to a school like Brown do I have a worse chance of getting in if I only take 2 subject tests ( which is the bare minimum), or should I try to take 3-4 and compromise my scores?

On a totally random note I really want to do some type of scientific research this summer and I have already been to my local colleges and have gotten no response. Any advice as to where I can go? Thanks!

"It does not really matter which one you take as long as you do well."

It does. An 800 in Math II trumps any score in Math I, because it assesses more difficult material. However, an impressively high score in Math I, which is notoriously difficult to attain, beats a sub 770 Math II score.

"Does one bare more weight then the other?"

n.b. "bear."

Math II is only impressive if one scores highly on it.
It tests more advanced material.

"should I try to take 3-4 and compromise my scores?"

Don't bother taking more than you need to if you risk threatening your own standing with poor scores.

Some colleges ask that you take MathIIC (like Stanford), so just take Math2 so you don't have any problems applying to any college.
