I agree that schools except Pomona/Princeton/UPenn should be good. If you can really show your story and get the point across in your essay you have a decent shot at those three despite your slightly low scores.

Thx @kei04086. I agree that my scores are slightly lower. When I called the admin at Pomona after my deferral( they encouraged me to do so in the letter), the admission officer that had read my app told me she had enjoyed it. At the time of the deadline, my ACT and subject tests were much lower, so that was probably why I was deferred. Hopefully my essays are good

So far (actual decisions):
UCD: accepted
UCSD: accepted
Rice: rejected
Northwestern: rejected
Pomona: ACCEPTED!!
UCLA: waitlisted
I will let you guys know the rest of the decisions when they come out. As you can see, college admissions is a very unpredictable process (got into Pomona, but WL at UCLA…) :)

final results
UCD: accepted
UCSD: accepted
Rice: rejected
Northwestern: rejected
Pomona: ACCEPTED!!
UCLA: waitlisted (not going to enter it because I enrolled in Pomona. Better to leave a spot for someone who actually wants it)
USC: accepted
JHU: rejected
Columbia: rejected
Princeton: rejected
Upenn: rejected

There it is. This was by far the hardest year in college admissions. Every school that I applied to had a much lower percentage of acceptance than last year, which is probably because of the Common App making it ridiculously easy to apply to a bunch of schools. I thought I was applying to a lot of colleges with 11, but many of my classmates applied to 20+ schools. I wish the very best of luck to future applicants because you’re going to need it.
